2019 Draft Board: Offensive Backfield
Like with the 2018 draft boards I posted, I’m continuing my transparency with the 2019 Draft Class. At the end of the 2021 season (provided there is a 2020 season) I will take their statistics and determine who is considered a successful pro and who isn’t. Looking at the QB draft board I wish this had been something I did before last offseason cause having Minshew where he ended up would have made waves, now it just seems obvious. That's probably one of the bigger surprises from these two boards, the other being where Josh Jacobs ended up on my RB draft board. I'm a little surprised and disappointed that Drew Lock was removed from my draft board. I like Lock, so thankfully it was for something that leads to a significantly decreased chance of success and I hope he proves to be another exception to that factor.
2019 QBs removed from my board:
I was able to eliminate six players. Players eliminated from my draft board were split into two categories: Empty and Depleted. “Empty” are players who had factors that led to a 0% success rate for pros drafted at their position from 2008-2017. “Depleted” are players who had factors that significantly decreased the success rate of pros drafted at their position from 2008-2017. Below you will see an ‘E’ or ‘D’ next to their names, ‘E’ signifies “empty”, ‘D’ signifies “depleted.” They are:
Clayton Thorson (E)
Daniel Jones (E)
Kyle Shurmur (E)
Nick Fitzgerald (E)
Tyree Jackson (E)
Drew Lock (D)
*Has a factor that led to 100% success rate from Quarterbacks taken between 2008 and 2017 that also had that factor.
