2022 Week 1 Dynasty Recap: The Story Continues

2022 Week 1 Dynasty Recap: The Story Continues

Week 1 is in the books and we have 5 undefeated teams remaining!! Alright, that's to be expected, perhaps what's more surprising is Alex and I are among those teams! Here's another fun surprise, who had Kyle Phillips as leading our OROY race after one week? Me neither and he's on my team. Here are your week 1 results:

Michael Style 83.52 over Shenron’s Wish 75.20

This game was a struggle. I couldn't tell if they were trying really hard to win and failing, or if they're already tanking for Bijan Robinson. Wilson, Lockett and Penny let Bryar down on Monday night. They needed a combined 26 points, they gave him 17. Alex was led by Michael Pittman, looks like that pre-draft trade already paid off for him.

Fear Itself 107.69 over Kade’s Dawgs 82.09

The headline everyone seemed to be screaming Sunday was "Saquon Barkley is back." How long until he gets hurt though is anyone's guess, but for now Nathan can enjoy his 20 point outburst. Curt got off to a hot start Thursday night thanks to Stafford singing I Only Have Eyes For You as he continually pegged Kupp. Unfortunately, that production would not carry over to the rest of his team on Sunday.

Space Rangers 98.01 over Noobmaster69 72.80

Simon got a combined 30.1 points out of Diggs and Miller Thursday night, but it's like I always say "oh great, my player went off Thursday so I'm definitely screwed come Sunday." That carried over for Simon and not pointing any fingers but the main culprit was Rodgers. I had a decent week and I was led by co-Defensive Player of the Week, Myles Garrett and his 19.5 points! Defense wins championships right?

NUKEM 133.81 over Fantasy Fairies 102.43

Ryan, you lost the first game of your career, however, there is a positive to take away, you did something Ben and Cody never did, you scored over 100 points with this team! Granted, the IDP definitely helped, but ignore that, just relish in the success! Pastor Dad had the Offensive Player of the Week in Justin Jefferson with his 25.7 points. AND he had T.J. Watt, who tied for Defensive Player of the Week with 19.5 points. Watt's injury will be felt, but without him he still had the second highest scoring team of the week.

ay_Bilat 117.85 over Ferocious Felines 82.04

Trey threw caution to the wind, he ignored all the pundits and he started Mahomes, Chase, Adams, Hill, Chubb, and CMC. That was heavy sarcasm guys, his still stacked team did exactly what you would expect. Fred, on the other hand, ran with a 95 year old QB and it showed. At least Kelce didn't shrivel up like some of the experts out there said he would.

Here’s a look ahead at next week:

Fear Itself (1-0) vs Space Rangers (1-0)

Thanks to last season Nathan has a 4-2 lead in our series. I plan on evening that out by season’s end, so get your popcorn ready.

ay_Bilat (1-0) vs Noobmaster69 (0-1)

Simon looks to end his losing streaks at 10 regular season games, and 13 games overall. He’s going to have a hard time doing that though seeing as how Trey is 3-0 and against him.

Ferocious Felines (0-1) vs Michael Style (1-0)

Fred is up 4-2 in this rivalry, but Alex got the last laugh last year. Fred is in jeopardy of tying his losing streaks at 3 regular season games and 4 overall, so his team’s full participation would no doubt be much appreciated.

Kade's Dawgs (0-1) vs Fantasy Fairies (0-1)

The first of many meetings to come between these two. Since there’s no history here, I’ll just give Ryan a heads up, Curt currently carries a 57.4 win percentage overall which is 3rd highest in the league.

NUKEM (1-0) vs Shenron's Wish (0-1)

Bryar leads the series 4-3, but these two have split their regular season series over the last two seasons, with Bryar winning the first game of the season and Pastor Dad winning the second. Will that hold true again this year? Will NUKEM survive the loss of T.J. Watt? I guess you’ll just have to tune in next week to find out.

That’s all for this week, good luck to you all in week 2!
