2022 Week 14 Dynasty Recap: Written in Stone
The top four picks are set, the playoff seeding is set, and we are ready to roll into the postseason! Here are your week 14 results:
ay_Bilat 94.53 over Fear Itself 92.19
The game of the week delivered. It had the Offensive Player of the Week (Jerick McKinnon [22.20]), a Monday night comeback (led by Isaiah Simmons), a changing of the guard for the #1 seed, and the league MVP (Josh Allen) finishing the season strong. The only thing it was missing was the MVP Runner-Up (Patrick Mahomes) making it a duel to the finish.
Michael Style 90.73 over Fantasy Fairies 87.69
Jalen Hurts (20.19) was once again a rockstar for Ryan while the majority of the team failed miserably. Alex won this game on Monday night and for those wondering, had Folk missed that 50 yard FG, Alex would be picking second next summer.
Noobmaster69 92.95 over Shenron’s Wish 86.38
It was looking like Simon was locked into the #1 pick, but then Rhamondre Stevenson got hurt early on Monday night and Bryar hit the lottery. Everything fell just right for Simon to once again end up with the #2 pick. Both of these teams are hoping the player they land with the first two picks is enough to turn things around for their dynasties (and that they don’t end up passing on a player like Jonathan Taylor, Justin Jefferson, or Ja’Marr Chase).
NUKEM 111.65 over Kade’s Dawgs 99.30
Pastor Dad’s team did all that was in their power to try and win their division and earn a first-round bye, but they didn’t get the help they needed. The win did jump them up to the third seed though, which means they’re a win away from getting a postseason rematch with Fear Itself. Curt’s team was led by the Dallas backfield duo of Pollard and Elliott! The loss hurts, but a 99-point outing is not something to be upset about as you head into the playoffs.
Ferocious Felines 92.49 over Space Rangers 75.45
While Fred was winning his 5th straight game making his team the hottest one going into the playoffs, my team was doing a great job of backing in. Tee Higgins was ruled out after the game started for the second time this year making Zac Taylor my least favorite coach in the NFL right now. Fred has one of the best RB duos this year in Jacobs and Henry, both of which led the charge for him once again this week.
And here is the current draft order as it sits right now. The first four picks are locked in place. The * denotes playoff teams, which will adjust based on how the teams finish in the playoffs (excluding the 3rd and 5th place games). The tie breaker for the non-playoff teams was determined by points scored, with the team with the lower point total getting the better pick (cause Simon and Ryan split their series, but Simon had less points). For playoff teams, if the two teams that lose in each round have the same record, then the first tie-breaker is head to head and the second tie-breaker is points. The final draft order will be included in the final article of the year and the end of season powerpoint.
1) Shenron’s Wish – Coach Bryar (2-12)
2) Noobmaster69 – Coach Simon (4-10)
3) Fantasy Fairies – Coach Ryan (4-10)
4) Michael Style – Coach Alex (5-9)
5) *Ferocious Felines – Coach Fred (8-6)
6) *Kade’s Dawgs – Coach Curt (9-5)
7) *Space Rangers – Coach Lance (9-5)
8) *NUKEM – Coach Rob (9-5)
9) *Fear Itself – Coach Nathan (10-4)
10) *ay_Bilat – Coach Trey (10-4)
Here’s a look ahead at next week:
3 NUKEM (9-5) vs 6 Ferocious Felines (9-5)
Pastor Dad is up 7-2 in the series. You already know Fred is on a five game win streak, but did you know his last loss was to Pastor Dad? He actually lost both head to head meetings this year, and the old adage is you don’t want to face a team for a third time in a season if you won the first two meetings. That doesn’t really hold up in this league though. It has happened four times and only once did the team that won both in the regular season end up losing in the postseason, that was 2020 when Pastor Dad beat Fred both times in the regular season and then lost to Fred in the championship. Will history repeat itself?
4 Space Rangers (9-5) vs 5 Kade’s Dawgs (9-5)
Like I said above, my team has done a great job backing into the playoffs, losing three of our last five and scoring less than 90 points in four of those. While Curt has won four of his last five and scored 99+ in three of those. Our series is split at 4-4, and this will be our first time meeting in the playoffs.
That’s all for this week, good luck to you all in the postseason!
