2022 Week 4 Dynasty Recap: History Repeats

2022 Week 4 Dynasty Recap: History Repeats

Fun fact, in years 1 and 3 of this league there were two undefeated teams going into week 5, in both of those years one would lose in week 5 and the other would lose the following week. In year 2 there were two undefeated teams going into week 4 with one losing and the other losing the following week. History just repeated itself with Nathan and Pastor Dad being the last remaining undefeated teams heading into week 4 with Pastor Dad losing and Nathan winning. Can Nathan break the mold and win again next week? Here are your week 4 results:

Kade’s Dawgs 89.25 over Noobmaster69 85.42

This may not have had the exciting scoring of the other games, but it was the most exciting game to track. It was the only game that was still interesting heading into the Sunday and Monday night games. Heading into Sunday night Simon led 73.22-55 with only Fournette left. Regular season Lenny would extend Simon’s point total to 85.42, but Mike Evans and Lavonte David would close the gap, making the score 85.42-76.15 heading into Monday night. All Curt had left was last year’s MVP Runner-up, Cooper Kupp, but thanks to Stafford’s love affair with throwing to only one Receiver, Kupp was able to get the job done.

ay_Bilat 123.28 over NUKEM 108.24

Austin Ekeler had his biggest game of the season as these two giants slugged it out. Unfortunately for Pastor Dad, the rest of his team still struggled to reach their week 1/2 form. Trey on the other hand did get back to what he had been doing, prior to last week’s abysmal showing, with 8 of his players hitting double-digits.

Ferocious Felines 120.55 over Shenron’s Wish 100.44

On the plus side Bryar, the final score was a very good sign, on the negative side, it was largely due to four players while a handful of your guys did next to nothing (5 players below 6 points, 4 in double-digits). Fred stuck it out with the walking corpse and it paid off this week, Brady had his best game with 15.7 points, Josh Jacobs was the true star for him though getting not just his first rushing touchdown of the season, but his second as well.

Fear Itself 112.26 over Fantasy Fairies 83.73

Rashan Gary took home Defensive Player of the Week and carried Fear Itself to the win. He’s been a monster through the first four weeks with at least one sack in every game so far, easy to see why he’s currently the number two defensive player in our league right now (sorry, spoiler). Jamaal Williams looks to be the James Conner of this season, he’s had two touchdowns in three of his first four games, and the Lions look dead set on getting him the ball every time they’re at the goal line. I’d say he was the lone bright spot for Ryan, but Jeudy scoring after two weeks of less than ideal effort (and a minor injury) was a pretty nice surprise.

Space Rangers 107.78 over Michael Style 75.18

Lamar was pretty flat this week, but that’s alright, I mean I still had T.J. Hockenson who everyone definitely thought was going to win Offensive Player of the Week right? The win was nice, but losing Javonte Williams for the next season and a half is going to hurt. Alex, there’s still hope. I mean Fields did just tally his highest pass attempt total of the season (22!), even if he did only complete half of them, perhaps it’s a sign his coordinator has figured out you should probably throw the ball when you’re losing.

But wait, there’s more!!! Here is the current draft order as it sits right now. The * denotes playoff spots. Tie breakers for non-playoff teams will be determined by regular season head-to-head results, with the loser getting the better pick. In the event of a three-way tie, or an instance of an even 1-1 split on the season, the tie breaker will be points scored, with the team who had the least points scored getting the better pick.

1)     Noobmaster69 – Coach Simon (0-4)

2)      Fantasy Fairies – Coach Ryan (0-4)

3)      Shenron’s Wish – Coach Bryar (1-3)

4)       Michael Style – Coach Alex (2-2)

5)      *Kade’s Dawgs – Coach Curt (2-2)

6)      *Ferocious Felines – Coach Fred (2-2)

7)      *Space Rangers – Coach Lance (3-1)

8)      *ay_Bilat – Coach Trey (3-1)

9)      *NUKEM – Coach Rob (3-1)

10)   * Fear Itself – Coach Nathan (4-0)

Here’s a look ahead at next week:

Fear Itself (4-0) vs Shenron’s Wish (1-3)

Nathan takes his undefeated record to Shenron’s Wish who just chopped ay_Bilat off at the knees two weeks ago. The series is tied at 2-2, but Nathan won the last two including a playoff win back in 2020.

NUKEM (3-1) vs Ferocious Felines (2-2)

Pastor Dad has dominated this series 5-2. Perhaps working in Fred’s favor is that he won the last matchup, also fun, the other of Fred’s two wins was the 2020 Championship game.

ay_Bilat (3-1) vs Michael Style (2-2)

Another series where the leading team is up 5-2, that team is Trey’s. The cherry on top is one of Trey’s five wins came in Alex’s first playoff game a season ago.

Space Rangers (3-1) vs Kade’s Dawgs (2-2)

An old rivalry that predates my teen years. I’ve got the lead in this league at 4-2. Curt has not beaten me since week 1 of the 2020 season.

Fantasy Fairies (0-4) vs Noobmaster69 (0-4)

On the bright side, after this week only one of you will still be winless and at least one other big thing will have happened. That thing being Ryan getting his first win in this league, or Simon ending the longest losing streak in league history.

That’s all for this week, good luck to you all in week 5!
