2022 Week 6 Dynasty Recap: The Sun Rises on the East

Every matchup this week was the East vs the West and in every matchup the East was victorious. I’m not sure if we’ll have another week like that this season, so for right now we will gladly take the bragging rights. Here are your week 6 results:

Fantasy Fairies 86.70 over Shenron’s Wish 86.33

Talk about a close game! Jalen Hurts put the Fairies in position and Brandon McManus, with his team leading 13 points, kicked Ryan to his first ever victory…literally, McManus won this game on Monday night. On the plus side for Bryar, Stevenson showed up in a big way for him (team leading 18.55 points), just in the nick of time too with a healthy, efficient Antonio Gibson significantly losing carries.

Noobmaster69 90.90 over Michael Style 89.75

Simon has won two straight! Streak, streak, streak, streak!! The beauty of it is Stefon Diggs having the biggest point total in the matchup (18.40) against his former team. To add injury to insult, Alex appears to have lost Marquise Brown for most, if not all, of our remaining regular season games.

Kade’s Dawgs 103.05 over ay_Bilat 98.76

Kade’s Dawgs are back baby! Three straight wins, this one over the number three team in the league, and a QB leading his team to victory for the first time in way too long to remember. Seriously though, Lawrence is starting to step up, Curt may have found his future under Center. Trey had the Player of the Week in Ja’Marr Chase (22.10 points), but it wasn’t enough to help him out this time.

Space Rangers 78.15 over Ferocious Felines 72.15

Well this was pretty close to as ugly as it gets. Between the two of us we had five players score 1 or less. Myles Garrett led my team (16.75 points) and in doing so he became the first player in league history to take home Defensive Player of the Week honors twice in one season. Fred, I’m just grateful your starting backfield was on bye.

Fear Itself 98.23 over NUKEM 87.84

As Pastor Dad pointed out in a text he sent Alex and I, his team just doesn’t like showing up when they take on Fear Itself, tis the month I suppose. (Halloween’s around the corner for those of you who aren’t sure where I was going with that). Kyler Murray and Jonathan Taylor certainly aren’t helping matters. Meanwhile, Josh Allen and Saquon Barkley are continuing the reign of terror for Nathan.

Here’s a look ahead to RIVALRY WEEK!!!

Fear Itself (6-0) vs Kade’s Dawgs (4-2)

Curt won the East division title in year one just to watch from second place as Nathan took it home the last two years. That first round bye last year allowed Nathan to win a championship, while Curt fell in the fifth place game. The rivalry extends beyond that even. Curt was the original keeper of the league’s longest regular season win streak when he won 8 straight from weeks 2-9 back in 2019. Nathan would win his final four games of 2020 and his first five of 2021 to set the new record at 9. These two will roll into this one with the longest active win streaks in the league (Nathan’s at 8, Curt’s at 3), and a whole lot on the line. Curt leads the series 4-3 and a win would keep Nathan within arms reach in the race for the East.

NUKEM (4-2) vs Noobmaster69 (2-4)

This rivalry isn’t much on paper with only four matchups between them and a 3-1 lead for Pastor Dad. But you make do with what you have when you’re trying to find a rivalry week. These two do go way back though, to when Simon was four and Rob was a newer Pastor of a church up in New York.

ay_Bilat (4-2) vs Shenron’s Wish (1-5)

We covered this one just four weeks ago. Back when Bryar got his first and only win of the season, handing Trey his first loss of the season. Back when the win sparked a small fire of hope for Bryar. That fire has once again dwindled, but he can spray gasoline on it with another big win against his original rival for the West. With a 5-2 lead in Trey’s favor, Bryar can also draw one game closer to evening the series out.

Space Rangers (4-2) vs Fantasy Fairies (1-5)

Another one we saw four weeks ago, I have the pleasure of being Ryan’s first repeat customer. Ryan’s coming off his first win though, and I’m coming off back to back games of less than 80 points, so this one really could go either way.

Ferocious Felines (2-4) vs Michael Style (2-4)

Fred leads 4-3, but Alex got the win back in week two. Since then Alex hasn’t won a game, and Fred won two of four. With the potential for five teams to exit this week with five or more marks in the win column, neither of these coaches can afford to fall to 2-5. Although that race for the 6 seed would be a very exciting storyline to follow.

That’s all for this week, good luck to you all in week 7!
