2022 Week 7 Dynasty Recap: Rivalry Week

2022 Week 7 Dynasty Recap: Rivalry Week

Rivalry week. A week that brings out the best in teams. A week that gives them that motivation to go 100% regardless of how beat up and worn out they are. A week that leads to upsets and turmoil. That wasn’t the case this year. Here are your week 7 results:

Space Rangers 92.20 over Fantasy Fairies 89.72

Ryan, please don’t scare me like that again. I went into last night thinking things were set and just as I was laying down to go to sleep I figured I would check and see how everything ended. I had no idea that Roquan Smith (18.70) almost brought you all the way back for the win. Smith would finish second for defensive player of the week honors and Joe Burrow (25.62) would finish second for the offensive player of the week honors. Of course Smith finished second behind my guy, De’Vondre Campbell (25.15)!! I’d like to thank Campbell and Kenneth Walker (20.40) for saving my bacon this week after Gallup and Robinson managed three targets and zero touches between the two of them.

NUKEM 87.58 over Noobmaster69 80.73

On national Tight End’s day Mark Andrews had his worst game of the season (0.20). NUKEM also had their worst game of the season. Coincidence? I think not. Then again, no Justin Jefferson probably hurt him too. Ahmad Gardner (11.50) led Simon’s upset attempt. Gardner has moved into second in the Defensive Rookie of the Year race, and is within striking distance of first place.

Fear Itself 87.34 over Kade’s Dawgs 78.55

Without Josh Allen, Fear Itself looked human! Unfortunately for Curt and me, it wasn’t enough to help Curt win. Unlike Mark Andrews, Kittle had his best game of the season on national Tight End’s day, and was one of three reasons (Mike Williams and Aaron Jones being the other two) why Nathan’s team didn’t completely collapse during Allen’s bye week. If you want to point at one point of failure for Curt, that would be Jonathan Allen who posted 0 points, while Chris Jones had 14.75 points on the bench.

Ferocious Felines 105.72 over Michael Style 75.98

Josh Jacobs (27.25) came to play after his week off, earning Offensive Player of the week honors and leading Fred to the win. The loss wasn’t even the worst thing that happened to Alex this week. That belongs to the loss of Breece Hall to a torn ACL. The promising young rookie looked like a star in the making, now we’ll have to wait until next season to see if he can pick up where he left off. On the plus side for Alex, Justin Fields (15.68) went for double digits for the second week in a row (also only the second time this season), perhaps he and his coaching staff are starting to figure things out.

ay_Bilat 127.86 over Shenron’s Wish 96.86

I guess Trey wanted to make sure that what happened back in week 3 didn’t happen again here. He definitely made his point thanks to Chase (22.50), Simmons (18.55), Mahomes (16.46), Chubb (12.34), Owusu-Koramoah (12.00) and Gano (11.00). Was that it? Did I cover everyone? Bryar’s team came to play too, they were just outgunned. Stevenson (16.40) had another big week for him though.

Here’s a look ahead at next week:

Fear Itself (7-0) vs Space Rangers (5-2)

Nathan is one win away from breaking the longest win streak record for the league, a record he already holds, so let’s see if I can keep him from taking it away from himself! Nathan leads our series 5-2 and if I’m going to have any shot at winning the division I need to win this one, as a win would put him up 3 games overall and guarantee a better division record than me.

ay_Bilat (5-2) vs NUKEM (5-2)

This has been a battle of titans over the last couple seasons. Trey holds the series lead at 5-3 including a win back in week 4. It’s too early in the season and this division is too close to say that this game could majorly impact the division race, but a win here for Pastor Dad would go a long way with him having the tougher schedule down the stretch.

Kade’s Dawgs (4-3) vs Fantasy Fairies (1-6)

Ryan’s worst week of the season came back in week 2 when he first played Curt (77.83 points), other than that his team has been pretty consistent. Curt’s team has been fluctuating up and down. Could be an upset alert to keep an eye on.

Ferocious Felines (3-4) vs Shenron’s Wish (1-6)

You wanna talk about two ends of a spectrum, let’s talk about Bryar’s team. He’s both on the verge of the #1 pick and on the outskirts of the playoffs. Three of his final seven games are against teams currently outside of the playoffs and two of the other four games are against the two teams in the final two playoff spots (one of them is Fred). Bryar has a 4-3 series lead and a win here could really help his team change the direction they’re heading.

Michael Style (2-5) vs Noobmaster69 (2-5)

These two met just two weeks ago and Simon came away with the win to extend his series lead to 4-2. A loss could mean a shot at the #1 pick, and a win could mean a shot at the playoffs if things fall right as the rest of the season plays out.

That’s all for this week, good luck to you all in week 8!
