2023 Draft Board: Edge Rushers
The below information I included in the QB draft board yesterday, I'm going to include it for every board, but it will be identical on each.
If you've ever read one of my draft board articles before then you have an idea of what you'll see below, but there is a slight change. If you haven't read them, quick explanation, I use stats, athletic testing, past performance from current pro players, and formulas to try and determine the chances a prospect in the current draft has at succeeding as a pro. In the past I used a "PSR", and an "A Met" and "S Met" to give every player a round grade. I still use all three of those, but it's put into a formula to determine a Score, which is on a 0-100 scale. The scores differ by position, so before each draft board I will put what the high score was between the 2021 and 2022 drafts at that position. And at the bottom you will see a small blurb I wrote up for each position.
High Score: 74.05

My Take: Caleb Murphy as the second highest rated player at the position surprised me. It helps demonstrate how important college production is for this position. His athleticism was only ok, it was his production that really buoyed him. That's the same production that allowed him to become the first ever non-FBS player to win the Hendricks award. He'll probably go day 3, but I think he could be a monster as a pro. There are a few players that I believe will outplay how my system has them ranked. That list includes B.J. Ojulari and Byron Young.
