2024 Draft Board: Offensive Lineman
The below information I included in the QB draft board earlier in the week, I'm going to include it for every board, but it will be identical on each.
If you've ever read one of my draft board articles before then you have an idea of what you'll see below, but there is a slight change. If you haven't read them, quick explanation, I use stats, athletic testing, past performance from current pro players, and formulas to try and determine the chances a prospect in the current draft has at succeeding as a pro. In the past I used a "PSR", and an "A Met" and "S Met" to give every player a round grade. Now, it all comes down to a Score. The scores differ by position, so before each draft board I will put what the high score was between the 2020-2023 drafts at that position. And at the bottom you will see a small blurb I wrote up for each position.

Things worth noting:
-This may be the first time I've had the top three projected Tackles actually grade out as the top three Tackles. I knew Alt would be up there and kind of figured Fuaga would be too, but it genuinely surprised me when Fashanu earned a first round grade.
-There are several "Day 3" guys from my board that are getting first round love from others. To put into perspective what Day 3 has meant so far from the Tackle position (based on this specific grading system), for 2020 and 2021 71.4% of my Day 1 Tackles earned an A-C grade through their first three years, whereas 0% of my Day 2, Day 3 and Undrafted did. It doesn't mean they're flops, they still have plenty of time in front of them. I personally think it means the players in that range will take a little longer to develop, but we need more seasons to go by to test that theory.
-I absolutely love Mason McCormick. I hope his name continues to fly under the radar so my Vikings can scoop him up in the fourth round.
-You'll notice several names listed under a different position than the one they played in college. Typically that means they had a measurement (height, arm length or weight) that fell under the standard of the position they played, so I move them over to a different position to see how they grade out their (Cooper Beebe's arm length is a good example of that). For Troy Fautanu it was that he earned an undrafted grade at Tackle, but I know some pundits have him moving over to Guard so I tested him out there and he scored as a high Day 3.
-Limmer's athletic score was a little higher than Powers-Johnson's, but JPJ had the higher production score, so with their overall scores being what they are I would personally give JPJ the bump.
-A sleeper from each position: Jalen Sundell at Center, his production score was the third highest at the position, and FCS players that score decent make good sleeper picks (when they aren't being highly talked about that is). For Tackle, I know he got a Day 2 grade from me, but Javon Foster is not getting recognition and I believe he should be. He had the third highest production score at the position, he just needed to do a little better on the athletic tests to get a Day 1 grade. And at Guard, I don't know if I can say Zak Zinter, but I'm going to anyway. His injury at the end of the season puts him into the same category as Andrew Vorhees was in coming out last year. We know what he can do, we know the value he would have carried had he not gotten hurt, so how big of a steal is someone going to get? Vorhees' injury was a torn ACL and happened during the draft process and it resulted in Baltimore landing him in the 7th round...I don't see Zinter falling that far, but anything beyond the 3rd round and you'll start to enter steal territory.
