2025 Week 10 Dynasty Recap: That Was Pretty Ugly
I’m on vacation, up visiting the family in New York, so this is going to be relatively quick. What an ugly week! Mine and Ryan’s game took over the top spot on the lowest scoring matchups. Trey and I both set new lowest scoring games for our teams in the new scoring system. Only one close game. Just gross. Here are your week 10 results:
Kade’s Dawgs 96.82 over NUKEM 92.78
The Dawgs went into Monday night looking like they would probably win, but through three quarters it looked like DeVonta Smith wasn’t going to be able to get it done. He scored in the fourth and secured the win. Bright spots, Trey McBride is now 41.5 points away from breaking Travis Kelce’s (2022) single-season TE points record for the league. And for NUKEM, Woody Marks had another double-digit outing, that makes 4 out of his last 6 games.
Ferocious Felines 125.60 over Bolt Battalion 112.60
There were several games this week where one team had one player blow up and the other team didn’t, and that was the key difference. For this matchup that player was De’Von Achane with his 37.50 points. The Bolt Battalion had a good week, but no one was able to match what Achane did.
Fantasy Fairies 91.02 over Space Rangers 73.52
Do we have to talk about it? Of course, Rome Odunze got back on track against me, and Jerry Jeudy had easily his best game of the season. Plus, Jeanty and Swift went for double-digits. On my side, Wilson (0.00) came back from injury just to get hurt again, and Sam Darnold (4.92) only had to throw the ball 12 times after his defense put the game out of hand way too early.
Shadow Legion 160.62 over The Empire 113.44
Anthony hit the top ten scoring games with this one, coming in at #9. And the star of the matchup? TreVeyon Henderson finally had his breakout game! He had three other players go for 20+ too (London, Seattle’s defense and Egbuka). Bryar had a really good week too, but not much you can do when your opponent goes for 160, unless your team also blows up.
Fear Itself 125.94 over ay_Bilat 68.14
Bad week to have a major dud Trey. Now the East remains pretty wide open down the stretch. Another game where one player really blew up, it was Jahmyr Gibbs (36.7) in this one. But thanks to Trey’s team’s performance, Gibbs could’ve had an average week and Fear Itself still would’ve won.
Michael Style 158.10 over Storm Surge 98.30
Speaking of one player blowing up, Jonathan Taylor, and his 48.1 points, is your Player of the Week. We haven’t seen him take home that award since all the way back in week 8. He becomes the second player in league history to take home PotW 3 times in a season (Barkley last year is the other), and he now has 3 weeks to become the first to do it 4 times. Storm Surge, or should I say Emergency Room? I’d say take solace in the little things, but I’m having a hard time coming up with what that should be. I guess Kyren Williams hitting 20+ points again for the first time since week 5 (funnily enough that was also against San Fran) would count.
**A reminder that will remain here for all future iterations of the Playoff Outlook section, the “SOS” categories are ranked 1st to 10th, with 1st being the easiest and 10th being the hardest. I’ve combined the remaining records and remaining points for into one SOS using a z-score, which is that weird number you see. The more positive the number, the more difficult the remaining the schedule, the more negative the number, the easier the remaining schedule.**
Playoff Outlook:
1st seed: Michael Style Coach: Alex Record: 8-2
SOS Remaining: 0.246 (7th)
Remaining opponents: Fantasy Fairies (7-3), Ferocious Felines (6-4), NUKEM (3-7), Bolt Battalion (4-6)
Outlook: Fred’s win kept you from basically locking up the Central. But a win against him in week 12 would have the same effect. Playoffs are already secured for all intents and purposes (i.e. a 4 game and nearly 240 point lead over the 7th seed would be crazy for anyone to overcome).
2nd seed: ay_Bilat Coach: Trey Record: 8-2
SOS Remaining: -0.275 (6th)
Remaining opponents: Storm Surge (3-7), Space Rangers (4-6), The Empire (2-8), Fantasy Fairies (7-3)
Outlook: Same as Alex with the playoffs basically being locked up. The loss this week hurt you. The easiest way for you to win the East is to win three of your final four including against Ryan in week 14.
3rd seed: Shadow Legion Coach: Anthony Record: 6-4
SOS Remaining: -0.323 (5th)
Remaining opponents: Space Rangers (4-6), Kade’s Dawgs (3-7), Ferocious Felines (6-4), NUKEM (3-7)
Outlook: The west isn’t fully locked up, but a win in any of your remaining games, or a loss by Curt and Rob in any of their remaining games would finish the job. Lose out and your at the mercy of the rest of your division and the league.
4th seed: Fantasy Fairies Coach: Ryan Record: 7-3
SOS Remaining: 0.274 (8th)
Remaining opponents: Michael Style (8-2), Fear Itself (6-4), Bolt Battalion (4-6), ay_Bilat (8-2)
Outlook: You can secure your first playoff berth with just one win, and a loss by Matthew and me. You still have a shot at the East division as well, just win one more game than Trey does the rest of the season and make sure you beat him in week 14.
5th Seed: Fear Itself Coach: Nathan Record: 6-4
SOS Remaining: -0.371 (4th)
Remaining opponents: The Empire (2-8), Fantasy Fairies (7-3), Kade’s Dawgs (3-7), Space Rangers (4-6)
Outlook: East is still technically in play, but you would need to either win 3 more games than Trey the rest of the way and 2 more than Ryan, or you would need to tie them in overall record, and you would need Trey to lose to both Ryan and me (points tie breaker might be too much to overcome, so this is the safer bet), and you would need to beat Ryan in week 12. Playoffs can be secured with three wins, two wins and a loss to Matthew and me, 1 win and 2 losses to Matthew and me, or 0 wins and 3 losses by Matthew and me.
6th seed: Ferocious Felines Coach: Fred Record: 6-4
SOS Remaining: -0.874 (1st)
Remaining opponents: Kade’s Dawgs (3-7), Michael Style (8-2), Shadow Legion (6-4), Storm Surge (3-7)
Outlook: You can lock up a playoff spot the same way Nathan can. The Central division is a little trickier, but not out of the question. You would need to either win 3 more games than Alex does down the stretch, or you would need to tie his overall record, and win both of your remaining divisional games.
Name: Bolt Battalion Coach: Matthew Record: 4-6
SOS Remaining: -0.856 (2nd)
Remaining opponents: NUKEM (3-7), Storm Surge (3-7), Fantasy Fairies (7-3), Michael Style (8-2)
Outlook: Winning the division is out of the question. In order to make the playoffs you need to win three more games than either Nathan or Fred, or you need to win two more games than they do and outscore Fred by 48.73 or Nathan by 91.23.
Name: Space Rangers Coach: Lance Record: 4-6
SOS Remaining: 1.110 (12th)
Remaining opponents: Shadow Legion (6-4), ay_Bilat (8-2), Storm Surge (3-7), Fear Itself (6-4)
Outlook: Same exact boat as Matthew, but I would need to outscore Fred by 66.36 or Nathan by 108.86.
Name: Storm Surge Coach: Joel Record: 3-7
SOS Remaining: 0.857 (11th)
Remaining opponents: ay_Bilat (8-2), Bolt Battalion (4-6), Space Rangers (4-6), Ferocious Felines (6-4)
Outlook: We’ve officially hit the “PLAYOFFS? PLAYOFFS???” stretch. Still not completely out of the realm of possibility, however in order for Joel, Curt or Rob to get a wildcard spot they would essentially have to win out and would need Nathan or Fred or Ryan to lose out. The point differential in that aspect does side with Joel, who could theoretically get in if he were to win three games and Nathan or Fred were to only win one, then he would need to outscore Fred by 29.38, or Nathan by 71.88.
Name: Kade’s Dawgs Coach: Curt Record: 3-7
SOS Remaining: 0.547 (10th)
Remaining opponents: Ferocious Felines (6-4), Shadow Legion (6-4), Fear Itself (6-4), The Empire (2-8)
Outlook: See Storm Surge for playoff implications. In order to win the West, he would need to win out and he would need Anthony to lose out.
Name: NUKEM Coach: Rob Record: 3-7
SOS Remaining: -0.817 (3rd)
Remaining opponents: Bolt Battalion (4-6), The Empire (2-8), Michael Style (8-2), Shadow Legion (6-4)
Outlook: See Storm Surge for playoff implications, and Kade’s Dawgs for divisional implications.
Name: The Empire Coach: Bryar Record: 2-8
SOS Remaining: 0.483 (9th)
Remaining opponents: Fear Itself (6-4), NUKEM (3-7), ay_Bilat (8-2), Kade’s Dawgs (3-7)
Outlook: All about that #1 pick at this point. Lose out and the pick is yours. Because of your point differential you would need to lose to Rob and Curt to maintain the #1 pick, you would also need to remain a game below Joel since you hold the head-to-head tiebreaker. Good time to remind everyone that sandbagging is against the rules and can result in loss of a draft pick.
**Every two weeks I’m going to post the top ten here. Players only accumulate points if they’re in your starting lineup**
TOP TEN
1) RB Jonathan Taylor (Michael Style) 258.90
2) RB Christian McCaffrey (ay_Bilat) 200.70
3) QB Josh Allen (Fear Itself) 194.66*
4) QB Patrick Mahomes (ay_Bilat) 194.46*
5) RB De’Von Achane (Ferocious Felines) 189.00
6) QB Jalen Hurts (Fantasy Fairies) 159.78*
7) RB Jahmyr Gibbs (Fear Itself) 168.00*
8) WR Jaxson Smith-Njigba (Michael Style) 165.80*
9) RB Josh Jacobs (Ferocious Felines) 162.50*
10) RB Bijan Robinson (Space Rangers) 158.10*
Here’s a look ahead at next week:
Michael Style (8-2) vs Fantasy Fairies (7-3)
Series is split 2-2. Ryan, you’re getting to face Alex without Jonathan Taylor, take advantage.
ay_Bilat (8-2) vs Storm Surge (3-7)
Joel leads the series 1-0. A win here would make Trey the second team to have a win against every team in the league (new guys included), Alex was the first for those wondering.
Shadow Legion (6-4) vs Space Rangers (4-6)
Anthony, there’s not a whole lot to say about my team that you probably don’t already know, and since this is our first matchup, there’s nothing to add on that end either.
Ferocious Felines (6-4) vs Kade’s Dawgs (3-7)
Curt leads the series 6-5. This game has seen 4 postseason matchups, but three of those were in the 5th and 3rd place games. They’ve only really ever had two games with playoff implications, both in 2021, a week 14 matchup that Curt won which caused a first round playoff rematch between the two, which Fred won. This game doesn’t have that same kind of weight, but a win by Fred would end the small glimmer of hope Curt has left, and a win by Curt would dampen Fred’s efforts to create more separation for the wildcard.
Fear Itself (6-4) vs The Empire (2-8)
Series is tied 4-4. Bryar won both matchups last season, including a second round win that sent Nathan to the third place game and Bryar to the championship.
Bolt Battalion (4-6) vs NUKEM (3-7)
Father vs Son! I’ll tell you the same thing the ref at the sword fighting pit at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival told my dad and I back when I was in high school, “we don’t condone beating your child here, but the refs do like to look the other way a lot.”
That’s all for this week, good luck to you all in week 11!
