2025 Week 13 Dynasty Recap: Highs and Lows

2025 Week 13 Dynasty Recap: Highs and Lows

While some teams were experiencing down weeks others were flying high. My Space Rangers had their best week since week 7, the Fairies had their best game of the season and Shadow Legion surpassed the 140 mark for the second time this year! Meanwhile, Fear Itself had just their third sub-100 game of the year, Storm Surge barely edged out their worst game of the season, and Bolt Battalion had their worst week since week 7. On the plus side, we did end our 3 week streak of setting the new low for lowest scoring matchups, though Nathan v Curt did land at #8 in the top ten for that list. Here are your week 13 results:

Fear Itself 96.02 over Kade’s Dawgs 85.64

Curt still had a slight chance going into Monday night, as long as the Patriots only scored 4 touchdowns, but that did not end up being the case, and Borregales kicked lights out on all of his opportunities. No flashy 50-point outing for any of Nathan’s superstars, but a solid double-digits from most of them, and the win. Curt, you can at least take this away, Trey McBride is now the owner of the best single season by a Tight End in league history.

Michael Style 105.74 over NUKEM 89.16

From what I heard, Alex screamed at his team for 3 hours following their week 11 debacle that coincided with their first game under 100 points this season. So, going into last night Wan’Dale Robinson and New England’s defense knew they had to do whatever they could to get past that 100-point mark, and to also secure the win of course. R.J. Harvey and Jacoby Brissett made sure to cover for St. Brown’s injury and JSN’s no-show. Recent waiver pick-up, Trevor Lawrence, led the way for NUKEM. Also, don’t look now, but Chase Brown has recorded double-digit performances in 6 straight games (i.e. basically every game since Browning was benched). Seems the trade may be starting to pay dividends.

Space Rangers 114.64 over Storm Surge 79.68

Revenge is a dish best served ice cold and shortly after Thanksgiving…apparently. My Space Rangers unleashed that bottled up rage from last year’s two losses. Burrow came back just in time to straighten out the locker room, and smack around Zac Robinson a little I guess, since Bijan Robinson got back into the high 20s. It looked like the Storm Surge was going to have BTJ and Hampton both back for this one. Unfortunately for them, Hampton remained sidelined, and BTJ might as well have stayed there himself.

ay_Bilat 131.84 over The Empire 96.64

1 v 12 went about how you would’ve expected. Trey’s team wasn’t messing around. Mahomes, Kelce and Pickens all put up double-digits on Thanksgiving, to get Trey off to a red-hot start. Adams, CMC and Bowers made sure to pile on Sunday. They weren’t taking any chances. On the other side, Bryar had Jackson and Flowers combine for just over 7 points on Thanksgiving night. The funny thing is, if he had started Goff and Jameson over them, he would’ve lost by 0.30, which is way worse in my opinion.

Fantasy Fairies 124.00 over Bolt Battalion 87.94

With the playoffs on the line one of these teams showed up and the other didn’t. What a time for the Fairies to have their highest scoring week of the season, locking up Ryan’s first playoff berth! It coincided with A.J. Brown’s, aka the Player of the Week’s, best game of the year. Meanwhile, the Bolt Battalion, who could’ve used a win, but if they lost they just needed to do their best in the point department, decided not to participate at all. Well, that’s not entirely true, Nico Collins, James Cook and Bo Nix put forth effort, combining for nearly 60% of their team’s points.

Shadow Legion 148.40 over Ferocious Felines 101.12

Things tapered off some on Monday night for the Shadow Legion, and Fred should be thankful for that cause had Anthony hit the projection Yahoo had going into Monday night, this would’ve made the top ten for biggest blowouts. Prescott, Lamb and Rice set the tone on Thanksgiving, and Seattle’s defense ran the extra mile with it. Fred, you may not have won, but outscoring Matthew by a little over 13 points, could be an important difference maker going into next week.

**A reminder that will remain here for all future iterations of the Playoff Outlook section, the “SOS” categories are ranked 1st to 12th, with 1st being the easiest and 10th being the hardest. I’ve combined the remaining records and remaining points for into one SOS using a z-score, which is that weird number you see. The more positive the number, the more difficult the remaining the schedule, the more negative the number, the easier the remaining schedule.**

Playoff Outlook:

1st seed: ay_Bilat              Coach: Trey        Record: 11-2

SOS Remaining: -0.168 (6th)

Remaining opponents: Fantasy Fairies (9-4)

Outlook: You and Alex have been playing double-dutch with the points-for lead for a few weeks now, so to keep the #1 seed it would be better to just win. A loss could mean a showdown with Shadow Legion, or potentially Fear Itself should Shadow Legion get knocked out in the first round.

2nd seed: Michael Style  Coach: Alex        Record: 10-3

SOS Remaining: -0.134 (7th)

Remaining opponents: Bolt Battalion (6-7)

Outlook: 177.46 point lead over Shadow Legion in the points tiebreaker, I think we can safely say the first round bye is yours. A win and a loss by Trey, plus you outscoring him by 14.55 points would lock up the #1 seed for you.

3rd seed: Shadow Legion               Coach: Anthony                Record: 9-4

SOS Remaining: -1.065 (2nd)

Remaining opponents: NUKEM (4-9)

Outlook: The 3 seed it is for you, but a win could potentially get you a higher pick seeing as how you own NUKEM’s first rounder.

4th seed: Fear Itself         Coach: Nathan  Record: 9-4

SOS Remaining: -0.434 (5th)

Remaining opponents: Space Rangers (5-8)

Outlook: Guaranteed the 4 or the 5 seed.

5th Seed: Fantasy Fairies                Coach: Ryan       Record: 9-4

SOS Remaining: 1.702 (12th)

Remaining opponents: ay_Bilat (11-2)

Outlook: Guaranteed the 4 or the 5 seed.

6th seed: Ferocious Felines           Coach: Fred        Record: 7-6

SOS Remaining: -0.843 (4th)

Remaining opponents: Storm Surge (3-10)

Outlook: Win and you are in, no questions asked. Lose and you just need to hope Matthew doesn’t win, or if he does win, that he doesn’t outscore you by 29.79 points.

Name: Bolt Battalion      Coach: Matthew              Record: 6-7

SOS Remaining: 1.501 (11th)

Remaining opponents: Michael Style (10-3)

Outlook: You can still make the playoffs, but you HAVE to win, Fred HAS to lose, and you HAVE to outscore him by 29.79 points.

Name: Space Rangers    Coach: Lance      Record: 5-8

SOS Remaining: 0.945 (10th)

Remaining opponents: Fear Itself (9-4)

Outlook: I’ve got the #5 pick regardless, and I can’t really spoil anything for Nathan, so just looking to close that gap in our head-to-head record, and avoid other things, which you’ll see below.

Name: NUKEM Coach: Rob         Record: 4-9

SOS Remaining: 0.563 (9th)

Remaining opponents: Shadow Legion (9-4)

Outlook: This pick is guaranteed to be top 4. Win and you will keep Anthony from a potential higher pick by keeping yourself at 4. Lose and you could move up as high as pick 2 if Storm Surge and Kade’s Dawgs also win.

Name: Storm Surge         Coach: Joel         Record: 3-10

SOS Remaining: 0.135 (8th)

Remaining opponents: Ferocious Felines (7-6)

Outlook: Ryan owns your first, but unless you win and Rob loses, you can’t make the pick any worse for him than it currently is. If Bryar beats Curt and you lose, this pick becomes the #2 thanks to head-to-head tiebreakers.

Name: Kade’s Dawgs      Coach: Curt         Record: 3-10

SOS Remaining: -1.031 (3rd)

Remaining opponents: The Empire (2-11)

Outlook: Lose to Bryar and the #1 pick is yours. If you beat Bryar, Joel loses, and Rob wins, then you would be picking 3rd. If you beat Bryar, Joel wins and Rob loses you would be picking 3rd as well with Rob picking 2nd (or rather Anthony), unless Rob outscores you by 6.37 points this week. The only way you end up with the #2 pick is if you, Joel and Rob all win, since Joel beat you head-to-head.

Name: The Empire           Coach: Bryar       Record: 2-11

SOS Remaining: -1.172 (1st)

Remaining opponents: Kade’s Dawgs (3-10)

Outlook: You are guaranteed a top 3 pick. Lose and the #1 pick is yours. If you win and Joel wins you pick 2nd. If you win and Joel loses you will be picking 3rd.

Here’s a look ahead at next week:

ay_Bilat (11-2) vs Fantasy Fairies (9-4)

Trey dominates this series 5-0. I’m going to use this section to discuss a few things that could happen this week. Trey could set the record for most wins in a regular season by winning this week. Ryan could become just the 6th coach in league history to finish a regular season with double-digit wins (Trey, Nathan, Rob, Joel, and now Alex are the only other ones).

Michael Style (10-3) vs Bolt Battalion (6-7)

Alex won the first matchup between these two, so he’s up 1-0. By winning this past week, Alex hit 10+ wins for the first time. A win this week would make him the 4th coach to have an 11 win regular season (Trey, Nathan and Joel being the only others). It is an unfortunate label, since this is Matthew’s first season, but a loss would guarantee that he is the only active coach to have not made the playoffs (since Ryan and Anthony have both secured their spots).

Fear Itself (9-4) vs Space Rangers (5-8)

Nathan has a chokehold on our series 10-4. A win this week for Nathan would allow him to maintain his lead for most double-digit win regular seasons, if he loses then Trey ties him up for the lead with 4 apiece. If I lose, I become the first team in league history to lose every divisional game, granted a little easier to do now with two less divisional games, but still not a title I would like to hold.

Shadow Legion (9-4) vs NUKEM (4-9)

Anthony won the first matchup between these two, so he’s up 1-0. Like Ryan, Anthony could become the 6th coach in league history to finish a regular season with double-digit wins. A loss for Rob would make this his second worst season, a win would tie it for second worst.

Ferocious Felines (7-6) vs Storm Surge (3-10)

Fred won both matchups between these two last year, so he has a 2-0 lead. A win for Joel here would mean all he would need next year is a win over Anthony to give him a win against every coach (something only Trey and Alex can currently claim). A win for Fred would tie his best regular season record once again (8-6 in 2021 and 22).

Kade’s Dawgs (3-10) vs The Empire (2-11)

Curt owns Bryar with a 7-1 lead. That one win by Bryar came back in week 1. Curt’s already hit a new low, it’s his team’s first losing season ever, and that includes the 2023 season when he went 7-7, because he also went 1-1 in the postseason. A loss here for Bryar would tie his worst record ever, and make him the only coach to have multiple seasons with less than 3 wins.

That’s all for this week, good luck to you all in week 14!
