2025 Week 2 Dynasty Recap: East Reigns Supreme

All non-division matchups this week. The West went 0-4, the Central went 2-2, and the East went 4-0! So, for at least one week the East sits on top. Here are your week 2 results:
Fear Itself 109.72 over Storm Surge 105.68
Two plays ultimately decided this game. First, Houston electing to go for it on fourth and goal early in the fourth quarter meant 4 less points for Fairbairn (3 for the FG they didn't go for instead, and 1 for the extra point he would've been able to kick on their touchdown later in the fourth quarter). And second, Omarion Hampton’s fumble. That’s 6 points that would’ve swung the game in the other direction. Nathan survived a bad Josh Allen week, mostly thanks to those plays, and Puka Nacua and Jahmyr Gibbs. Hey reigning champ, how does it feel to be 0-2?
Fantasy Fairies 102.54 over Shadow Legion 89.84
At first it was looking like Ryan might be giving Anthony a welcome to the league moment with Rome Odunze’s explosion. But Hurts and Brown failed to capitalize on that, and Ryan’s team just did a better job of holding out. Ryan, in your first three seasons you won a game earlier than week 6 only once, in 2023, the year you nearly made the playoffs. Could this be a sign you’re ready to make another push? Anthony, congratulations again, you’ve only played two games in this league and you’ve managed to make it into the record books twice. Both of those games made the top ten lowest scoring matchups under the new league scoring system! You’ve tied Joel, Bryar and me in that category and we’ve all played at least 18 games in the new system. Impressive.
Bolt Battalion 140.04 over The Empire 123.20
Big first win for Matthew, taking down the championship runner-up and posting 140 points. James Cook was once again the leader in the clubhouse for you, but it was Nico Collins that made Bryar say that the “L” had been sealed for him. Collins’ revenge game wasn’t anything crazy, but that touchdown on the side of the endzone was pretty sweet. Actually, if Bryar was wishing he could have any player back, I’m betting that player is Puka Nacua (see the top ten below for why).
Space Rangers 122.24 over Ferocious Felines 100.50
In the span of an hour and 20ish minutes I lost my QB1 for what has been confirmed a 3 month span, and my QB2 for likely a week or two. But if the rest of my team can combine to play like they did this week I think I might be able to stick ol’ one foot in the starting lineup and play it out until Fields is out of concussion protocol. It of course helps when the opposing team plays without any fire like Fred’s did this week. I asked before the game where this mountainous King Henry was, but all I found was a tiny little speed bump. By the way Fred, Brandon Aubrey said to give you his regards.
Michael Style 136.10 over Kade’s Dawgs 95.68
We knew St. Brown was mad at Ben Johnson for going to Chicago, but he could’ve stopped kicking him after the body stopped reacting. That was your Player of the Week by the way, ARSB with his 34.70 points. Curt, it looks like it’s time to tear the whole thing down and start fresh. I can create an auction house channel on the Discord server; you just say the word.
ay_Bilat 135.98 over NUKEM 71.90
Trey, man, you should probably exclusively target Kickers who’s careers you want to ruin. Jake Moody gets cut last week after missing two Field Goals, so you picked up Lutz who missed a Field Goal that ultimately would’ve given the Broncos the win. But hey, at least 70% of your team scored 13 or more points on your way to a monster win. Pastor Dad, you were one or two bench players away from only losing by 31 points. It is rough going right now, and that Ekeler injury is not going to help.
**Every two weeks I’m going to post the top ten here. Players only accumulate points if they’re in your starting lineup**
TOP TEN
1) QB Lamar Jackson (The Empire) 49.66
2) QB Josh Allen (Fear Itself) 48.58
3) QB Patrick Mahomes (ay_Bilat) 47.10
4) RB James Cook (Bolt Battalion) 44.70
5) WR Malik Nabers (Storm Surge) 42.80
6) WR Puka Nacua (Fear Itself) 41.70
7) RB Javonte Williams (The Empire) 41.40

10) RB Jonathan Taylor (Michael Style) 39.80
A look ahead at Week 3:
Fun stat, we’ve had two 3-0 teams heading into week 4 in every season but one, 2023, when Trey was the lone team to survive the first three weeks. Fred and Curt, let’s try and make this the first year that no team survives.
Fear Itself (2-0) vs Ferocious Felines (1-1)
Nathan leads this series 5-4. This matchup may not have started out as a rivalry back in 2019, but it has certainly grown into one. Not only is it one of Nathan’s closest coaching matchups, but it has twice been a divisional round matchup, split 1-1, where the winner went on to win the championship.
Michael Style (2-0) vs Space Rangers (1-1)
I am up 4-3 in this one. Nothing like a little brotherly love right? If you exclude year one we’ve played 6 of those games in the last 5 seasons and we’ve gone back and forth on each of them, with Alex winning the last one in the 5th place game last year. If that trend continues, I should win this one.
ay_Bilat (2-0) vs Kade’s Dawgs (0-2)
Trey leads this series 7-3. The 2019 championship rematch. If you exclude his series with Joel, this is easily Curt’s worst head-to-head matchup. These two have met twice a year in 4 out of their 6 seasons despite not being in the same division, because they’ve met in the playoffs three times. The 2019 championship (Trey won), the 2020 5th place game (Curt won), and the first round of the 2023 playoffs (Trey won). For those saying the math doesn’t math, the fourth season was due to them being each other’s extra game after the expansion to a 14 game regular season schedule.
The Empire (1-1) vs Fantasy Fairies (1-1)
This series is tied 3-3. Bryar is one of three coaches (excluding the two new guys) that Ryan does not have a losing record against. Bryar has won the last two matchups though, and he’s aiming to make it three. Ryan tied his win total from last season and now he’s looking to blow by it.
Bolt Battalion (1-1) vs Shadow Legion (1-1)
The first matchup between the two expansion teams and they both roll into the week at 1-1. Exciting stuff! Obviously I can’t provide any league history on either of you, but I will say there’s a major difference in league history between teams that start 1-2 and teams that start 2-1 (more on that next week).
Storm Surge (0-2) vs NUKEM (0-2)
Rob leads this series 2-0. He is one of two coaches that Joel failed to beat during his championship run last season, and is one of the games he’s had circled on his calendar since the schedule was released. Rob was also the one that ended Joel’s chances at beating the longest win streak to open a season. One of those wins was the closest in league history at 0.06, and the other was a 51 point blowout. Which are we in for this go around?
That’s all for this week, good luck to you all in week 3!
