2025 Week 6 Dynasty Recap: Times, they are a Changing

2025 Week 6 Dynasty Recap: Times, they are a Changing

The last time Ryan (or the previous coaches of the team Ryan now has) was above Nathan in the divisional standings was year 1, when Ben was coaching that team. The last time Curt was at the bottom of his division was never, and the same can be said of my team (sort of, I was tied record wise in the first three weeks of a couple seasons, but held the edge in points). And prior to this year, Alex never held a two game lead in his division. Here are your week 6 results:

Shadow Legion 98.54 over Kade’s Dawgs 89.50

This game made the lowest scoring matchups list, giving Anthony his third to make that list and he’s been here for all of 6 games, impressive. Some Monday night heroics by Drake London pulled victory from the jaws of defeat for the Shadow Legion. Egbuka’s injury didn’t help matters this week, and I’m sure Anthony awaits the results from his tests today with bated breath. Curt’s highest scoring players, and the only ones he had cross the double-digit point threshold this week: Tight End, Tight End, Kicker and Defense. That’s rough.

NUKEM 111.34 over The Empire 91.82

This win for the BiPolar Express was big, it keeps them in the running for the division with a 2-1 division record, while also staying just 2 games back from current front-runner, Shadow Legion. And the man running through brick walls to get him the win? Captain CTE himself, Cam Skattebo! 30 points out of the rookie got NUKEM off to a hot start on Thursday night, and Jayden Daniels was able to close out the win on Monday night. Bryar is going to have to gather all the coaches and lock them in the office until they figure out where they’re going wrong. As of right now, he has the second most points left on his bench. Don’t worry though, if there’s a week where you’ll blow-up, it’s this next one.

Fantasy Fairies 103.42 over Fear Itself 80.60

This game also made the lowest scoring matchups list, giving Ryan his fourth such game in that top ten, more than any other coach, also impressive. Despite Ryan having a 3 point lead, and four players left on Monday night to Nathan’s 1, Yahoo still wasn’t predicting much separation in the final score. But, Atlanta’s defense held Josh Allen in check, and D’Andre Swift had his best game of the season, allowing Ryan to breathe easy. This is a rough stretch for Nathan, it’s the first time he’s been 3-3 or worse after the first six weeks since year 1, it’s the first time he’s lost 3 in a row since he lost 5 straight from weeks 3-7 in year 1, and this was the lowest scoring game he’s had in the new scoring system.

ay_Bilat 136.98 over Space Rangers 113.14

If you’re facing me, you’re either blowing up or imploding, there’s really not an in-between. Trey’s team opted for the former with Mahomes, Pickens and CMC all posting 20+ fantasy points despite me hoping they’d all get the flu during warm-ups. I guess on the bright side Bijan Robinson took home Player of the Week honors. But that actually makes the loss hurt more. It was good to see Chase hit 20+ for the second straight week though.

Ferocious Felines 143.56 over Michael Style 109.18

Thanks to the Ferocious Felines, this will not be the year we see an undefeated season! Fred had two RBs combine for 58.5 points, and neither was named Derrick Henry (who actually had a solid little bounce-back himself this week). 58.5 points almost totaled what Matthew’s entire team scored (sorry Matthew). Alex quietly saw a changing of the guard this week. Right before the end of the 2021 season he picked up Amon-Ra St. Brown off waivers. ARSB has essentially been his WR1 ever since, and has finished as his highest scoring Receiver in every season from 2022-2024, and it really hasn’t been close. Jaxon Smith-Njigba surpassed him in points this week. Still a good number of games left, but something to keep an eye on.

Storm Surge 135.04 over Bolt Battalion 69.16

I’m gonna start with this cause I found it pretty interesting. Going into Monday night it was looking like Rico Dowdle was going to take home PotW honors in back-to-back weeks, which made me look into the last time that happened. Turns out, it’s only ever happened once in our league, Dalvin Cook in weeks 8 & 9 of the 2020 season. Dowdle is on a crazy run right now, and he played a big role in this Storm Surge win, but he wasn’t alone, Drake Maye was the second highest scoring QB of the week. For those who had Maye and Dowdle as top 2 fantasy scorers at their positions on their Bingo cards this week, good call! Matthew, it appears you drowned in that storm, I hope you’re able to get the water out of your lungs before next week.

**Every two weeks I’m going to post the top ten here. Players only accumulate points if they’re in your starting lineup**

*Means they’ve already had their bye week

Here’s a look ahead at next week:

Michael Style (5-1) vs Shadow Legion (4-2)

Here’s the rundown Anthony: Alex has a love-hate, mostly hate, relationship with winning. He’s finished with 5 or less wins in three seasons, and he’s only had one winning season. But he does have a championship to his name. Just send his team gifs of Jameis Winston eating W’s and you might scare them away.

ay_Bilat (5-1) vs Ferocious Felines (3-3)

These old division foes have a storied 16 game history, the most of any matchup in league history, with Trey currently holding a 9-7 lead. The series has mostly been back and forth. Trey has won four out of the six first matchups between these two of each year.

Fantasy Fairies (4-2) vs Storm Surge (3-3)

Joel won both matchups last year, so he holds the 2-0 lead. Ryan, 4-2, does this territory feel familiar? This is where you sat back in 2023, you finished that year on a 3-5 run narrowly missing the playoffs, can you avoid the pitfalls this go around?

Fear Itself (3-3) vs NUKEM (2-4)

Nathan has dominated this series 7-2. One of those wins includes the 2021 championship. Both of Rob’s wins came in seemingly unimportant games, the first was week 10 of the 2019 season with both already eliminated from the playoff race, and the other was week 5 last year, a win that spurred a four game win streak for a previously winless NUKEM team. Can they use this game to get the momentum working in their favor again?

Bolt Battalion (3-3) vs Kade’s Dawgs (1-5)

First time matchup, so here’s your info Matthew: Curt has never started a season out this bad. He’s started 3-3 three times, but that’s it. He’s also currently on a 3 game losing streak, one more and he’ll set a new longest losing streak for himself. And he currently sits at 9th for points, his worst finish in that category was 7th, even last year, when he missed the playoffs for the first time, he was still 5th in points. This is an off year for the Dawgs.

Space Rangers (2-4) vs The Empire (1-5)

Bryar leads our series 4-3, so I’ll be looking to even it out! Unfortunately, since 2021 we’ve faced each other once a year, winning every other. Bryar in 2021, me in 2022, Bryar in 2023, me in 2024. By the rule of sequences, it’s Bryar’s turn. Good thing I don’t play by the rules!

That’s all for this week, good luck to you all in week 7!
