2025 Week 7 Dynasty Recap: Blowout Central

2025 Week 7 Dynasty Recap: Blowout Central

Every single game ended with a double-digit point difference, a first on the season, although last week came close. We were also this close (I’m holding my fingers super close together) from having every game be a 20+ point difference, which has only happened three times in a given week in our league history (the last time was week 14 of season 3). Trey and Fred’s game is now ranked second on the biggest blowouts in league history, still 14.78 points behind first place though (Rob vs Simon in week 11 of season 3). Here are your week 7 results:

Space Rangers 122.32 over The Empire 103.94

What started out as two teams preparing to take advantage of how everyone has been teeing off on them all season, turned into a little bit of a letdown on Monday night. I’ll take the 122 points though, it narrowly edged out my previous high on the year! Each of our teams coming into the week had had our opponents go for 120+ points 7 times (4 against me, 3 against Bryar), there had been 25 times league wide a team had scored 120+ in a game (5 teams accounted for 18 of those games being against them, Bryar, Curt, Matthew, Fred and me, so if you’ve felt like you’re being targeted, you probably have been. The total between those 5 is now up to 21 out of 30). Anyhow, Ja’Marr Chase = Beast, Bijan Robinson = mvp (quietly though, we don’t want the others to see him coming), and Aubrey = greatest kicker of all time. On the plus side Bryar, you surpassed 100 points, and Chris Olave popped off. Also, Tyler Warren = sneaky Rookie of the Year pick.

Fantasy Fairies 109.24 over Storm Surge 90.38

Ryan won this game with three players, D’Andre Swift, and the Hurts to Brown connection. I’m not sure why he elected to give the rest of his guys the week off, it was a risky move, but he got the win, so it worked out. Drake Maye is on a terror for the Storm Surge, and good thing too, cause this outing would have been an embarrassment had Maye not shown up.

Michael Style 128.48 over Shadow Legion 103.26

Prepare to have your jaw drop. Michael Style’s leaders were Jonathan Taylor and JSN. I know, I know, no one saw that coming. To add to the insanity, Amon-Ra St. Brown was in the mix at the top for him too. CeeDee Lamb was a welcome return for the Shadow Legion. Unfortunately for them, London and Vidal were unable to double-down on their big weeks, and the Patriots still refuse to use Henderson for whatever reason. Lots of points left on the bench too.

Fear Itself 149.46 over NUKEM 101.34

No Josh Allen, no problem! Fear Itself managed their highest point total of the year with Josh Allen on bye. This game was well in hand going into Monday night, but that didn’t stop Jahmyr Gibbs from trying to take home Player of the Week. I’m sure Rob didn’t find him running up the score to be very sportsman-like. NUKEM is back in the downswing of their points run, but I would like to point out that their four highest scoring weeks have come in their last four games.

Kade’s Dawgs 151.86 over Bolt Battalion 86.66

Fun little quick stat: Curt has never lost more than 3 games straight, he came into this week having lost three straight and his team showed up to keep it there. I’m actively looking into some backdoor collusion by Kade’s Dawgs. It was awfully convenient that Quinshon Judkins, a top five dynasty pick coming out of the NFL draft, dealt with legal and contract troubles all the way through our draft allowing him to slide to 9 and land with the Dawgs. Some might say Curt just took advantage of the situation, but I’m not buying it! Judkins, DeVonta Smith and Trey McBride led the charge for the Dawgs in what was their best outing since week 3. Curt’s team has now accounted for the only 150+ point outings this year (2), they’ve also managed less than 100 points in 4 of their 7 games. A real Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde thing going. Speaking of, Matthew’s team was on a heater coming out of week 4 in which they had been on a 3 game win streak and scored 140+ in two of those three games. Since then, they’ve lost 3 straight and have failed to surpass 95 points. BiPolar Express must be hereditary. I almost forgot, Bo Nix is your Player of the Week! Without him, Matthew wouldn’t have cracked 70 points.

ay_Bilat 148.64 over Ferocious Felines 63.62

Curt might be the only one with 150+ points this season, but Trey has the most 135+ point games (4). Christian McCaffrey got a lot of help from players returning from injury so he was finally able to use the ground game to stack points alongside his receiving, making him the actual runner-up for PotW. This was the Ferocious Feline’s worst showing since we implemented the new scoring system. Josh Jacobs did his best, but nobody else wanted to help him. Between the injuries and the major bye weeks coming up, Fred might be staring down a path he was hoping to avoid this season.

Here’s a look ahead at next week:

ay_Bilat (6-1) vs Shadow Legion (4-3)

New opponent, new rundown: Trey’s team is terrible, as evidenced by his record. Let’s see, currently second in win percentage, made the playoffs 5 out of 6 years, won one championship, lost one championship, and finished 3rd twice. He also has two division titles.

Michael Style (6-1) vs Fear Itself (4-3)

Nathan dominates this series 7-2. Alex’s only two wins against Nathan came in the same year, 2023. One was in Week 13, which ultimately helped Alex secure his division title, and the other was in the championship giving Alex his first trophy and preventing Nathan from three-peating.

Fantasy Fairies (5-2) vs Kade’s Dawgs (2-5)

Curt has never lost against Ryan, he is 6-0 in this series. This will be the first time the two of them meet as non-divisional foes. Fun fact, unless you’re Ryan, the year the fairies narrowly missed the playoffs, they were on a run kind of like they are now (they had started the year 5-3), and then they faced the Dawgs, lost that game and proceeded to lose their next two games after that.

Space Rangers (3-4) vs Bolt Battalion (3-4)

Our first time meeting head to head: What can I say, except my team is pretty awesome. Ok, back to reality. I’m 51-51 overall, although I’ve never finished a regular season at .500, 8-6 or better and 5-8 or worse every year. Best finish was third place back in year 1. Since then, I’ve missed the playoffs twice (years 2 and 3), and finished 4th once.

Ferocious Felines (3-4) vs NUKEM (2-5)

Rob leads the series 9-6. A week after Fred participated in the matchup with the most all-time games, he gets to play in the matchup that’s currently tied for the second most all-time games.

Storm Surge (3-4) vs The Empire (1-6)

A rematch of the 2024 Championship, Joel leads the series 2-0. Definitely not where these two expected they would be 7 games into the season. Joel has failed to crack 110 points five times this year. Meanwhile, Bryar’s opponents have failed to crack 110 points just twice this season. Something’s gonna give.

That’s all for this week, good luck to you all in week 8!
