2025 Wildcard Week Dynasty Recap: Par for the Course

2025 Wildcard Week Dynasty Recap: Par for the Course

No upsets in the playoff bracket in week 1, everything went as was expected…unless you count Yahoo’s projected scores, in which case, Fred’s Felines wildly underperformed. Here is you wildcard weekend recap:

#3 Shadow Legion 124.86 over #6 Ferocious Felines 96.32

TreVeyon Henderson ran all over the kittens, earning MVP of this matchup. Jason Myers tied the single game record for a Kicker and helped lift the Shadow Legion the rest of the way past the Felines. Fred needed a bit of a miracle on Monday night, but not one that was out of the question (he needed Achane, Waddle and Metcalf to average about 20 points apiece). Unfortunately for him, Pittsburgh kept the Miami offense in check, bringing about Fred’s first opening round loss as a 6 seed.

#4 Fear Itself 137.12 over #5 Fantasy Fairies 116.80

Elephants in the room first. Kyle Pitts’ insane game did in fact break the highest scoring Tight End performance for the third time this season, and Chicago screwed over a lot of people in their fantasy playoff games by ruling Odunze out just before the game started, after initially saying he would play, but Ryan was not one of them. Had he known in time, he likely would’ve replaced Odunze with Jeudy and he would’ve lost by 17.12 instead of 20.32. Nathan got 15+ out of half of his starters, sending him flying into the next round.

#12 Kade’s Dawgs 129.60 over #9 NUKEM 107.60

The only upset of the weekend! The Dawgs hadn’t scored over 105 points since week 7, but they decided there was absolutely no way they would risk finishing dead last in the final rankings. Trey McBride was a monster (31.40), and Tyrone Tracy and C.J. Stroud also showed out with 20+ points each. As good as McBride’s game was, Trevor Lawrence’s (39.30) was better! Too bad Courtland Sutton was the only other player wanting to get the win for NUKEM this week.

#10 Storm Surge 109.30 over #11 The Empire 91.10

Storm Surge wasn’t going down without a fight! Kyren Williams got the ultimate revenge game, sending his former team to the pit of misery with this performance. On the bright side, Bryar, you finally started Jameson Williams on a week he exploded!

NEXT UP…

#1 Michael Style (11-3) vs #4 Fear Itself (10-4)

Nathan has a stranglehold on this series 7-3. Alex has ruined Nathan’s championship aspirations before, can he do it again?

#2 ay_Bilat (11-3) vs #3 Shadow Legion (10-4)

Anthony won their only matchup in the regular season. This is a bad time for your QB1 to go down, can Rodgers do enough to get Trey through to the championship?

5th Place Game: #5 Fantasy Fairies (10-4) vs Ferocious Felines (8-6)

Fred owns Ryan with a 4-0 lead in the series. The 5th place game may be the worst game to wind up in for the playoff bracket, but it’s still better to go out with a bang right?

#7 Bolt Battalion (6-8) vs #12 Kade’s Dawgs (3-11)

Curt only won three games in the regular season and his game against Matthew was one of them! Can Curt continue to steamroll through the consolation bracket? Only one 12 seed (10 seed prior to this year) has won the consolation bracket in the past and that was Cody’s Pretty Ponies back in 2021.

#8 Space Rangers (5-9) vs #10 Storm Surge (3-11)

Finally got my win in week 13, but my dad still leads the series 2-1. We have an agreed upon bet, one that will involve pictures posted to the Discord channel in early September next year, so stay tuned!

Last Place Game: #9 NUKEM (4-10) vs #11 The Empire (3-11)

Bryar leads the series 9-7. This game makes absolutely no difference toward anything in the offseason, but who wants to be known as the worst team in any given year? That’s a title each of these teams has taken home once (The Empire in 2022 and NUKEM in 2023). The loser of this matchup will be the first team in league history to lose the last place game twice.

That’s all for this week, good luck to everyone in the divisional round!
