Dynasty League 2026 Week 3: Separation from the Pack
When I was putting in the points for the position Top 5s and the MVP race I noticed that there’s already some serious separation. First, the top QB has a 33-point lead on the QB2, and the top WR has a 26-point lead on the WR2. And second, there’s a 1.26-point difference between the current MVP front-runner, and the guy in 3rd, but there’s a 15.6-point difference between 3rd and 4th. Still a lot of season left, and injuries do happen, but I don’t know if I remember a season like this in the past. Here are your week 3 results:
Shadow Legion 89.54 over Fantasy Fairies 82.92
This game snuck onto the lowest scoring matchups list, sliding in at #9. What an ugly Monday night game. To be fair, neither of these teams were projected to score over 100-points heading into Monday night, but I figured at least one, if not both, would surprise since both had stars on Philly, and this is the same Chicago team that gave up 37 to the Panthers in week 1. Anthony gets a mark in the win column thanks to his Cowgirl connection. Ryan is left searching for answers after another significant drop-off in points from what he scored week 1.
The Empire 104.84 over Michael Style 87.68
Alex’s team decided to take a bye week early after breaking their backs in weeks 1 and 2. Doesn’t matter Bryar, a win is a win, and you took down the #1 team. Led by a so-so performance from Lamar Jackson, and a bounce-back game from Javonte Williams. Jaxon Smith-Njigba tried. He tried to keep the Player of the Week award in house, and he tried to help Alex get the win. Unfortunately, only one other player touched double digits for Michael Style.
Fear Itself 163.26 over Bolt Battalion 117.48
Nathan etched his name into another row of highest scoring games; this one allowed him to take over the #10 spot. This is exactly what he needed. Josh Allen had a down, but still solid, week. Most of the rest of his team stepped up. London and Kittle went for 23+, Warren and Golden narrowly missed the 20-point mark, and Aaron Jones and Cairo Santos hit double digits. But the crown jewel was our Player of the Week, Jahmyr Gibbs. Matthew, it was a solid outing, solid just isn’t enough to get the job done when your opponent blows up. On the plus side, Christian Watson has continued to play like a WR1, and Nico Collins should be back potentially next week.
ay_Bilat 139.94 over Ferocious Felines 75.08
Trey’s team seems to have found their footing, and now they have Bowers back and leading the way with his 22.6 points. This is one of those times I’d like to have a screen so I could say, “and here’s a list of the other players that played a major role in this win...” and then point at the screen. Instead, I’ll just say everyone scored 10+ for Trey except his Kicker and defense. And he had several others do it on his bench! As a matter of fact, Trey’s perfect lineup would’ve included 3 Tight Ends. Fred, I don’t have much in the way for words of encouragement. Things weren’t looking good, and the injury news for Achane made it all worse. This is the point where an MLB team would look to dump contracts, or an NFL team would try and move older guys with higher value for youth and draft picks. But you are the one coach that always seems to claw his way to the playoffs with a late season surge, and you have a 14-7 record in weeks 12-14 to show for it.
Kade’s Dawgs 141.70 over Storm Surge 76.76
Curt wanted that first win over Joel so much so that when the game was already in hand he instructed Burden to “go back out on the field and continue to stomp on the Storm until not even the hint of a drop of rain remains in the air. Make sure that Joel’s team remembers this one and never again tries to rise up again.” Mission accomplished, on the first part of the instruction at least. I think Curt finally has his QB1. Shough turned the ball over three times and still managed to get up and over 20. Dad, three straight weeks under 80 points is gut wrenching. Kyren Williams is still doing his best to carry you, but it would be nice if some of your youngsters could kick in. Maybe J.J. McCarthy will get Nabers going! You can dream at least.
Space Rangers 178.88 over NUKEM 74.08
The biggest blowout in league history. Previously this record was held by Rob in a win over Simon WAAAYY back in week 11 of year 3. My win here eclipsed that game by 5 points. My point total also came in at #4 for the highest scoring games, separating Alex’s week 1 and week 2 performances. All but one of my players scored 10+. Five of them put up 20+ and it would’ve been 6 had Burrow not fumbled at the end of his game. Bijan Robinson had Player of the Week in his hands and then Gibbs had to go and steal it away from him, what a shame. Pastor Dad, all I can say is, for me, if my team is going to have a really bad week I would prefer it come when my opponent is blowing up. Bright spots included Trevor Lawrence leading the team in points after having to fill in for the injured Daniels, and Tyler Loop.
Here’s a look ahead at next week:
Fear Itself (3-0) vs Space Rangers (2-1)
Nathan has dominated our series 11-4. Nathan just broke his old record of 12 straight wins when including the playoffs, if he wins this one he will also break his old regular season win streak record of 9 (both were set between the 2021 and 2022 seasons). The last time he lost was week 8 of last year, and the last time he lost to me was week 7 of 2024.
Michael Style (2-1) vs Bolt Battalion (2-1)
The brother-in-laws faced off twice last year and Alex won both, one of which ended any hope Matthew had at making the playoffs. When it comes to the list of rivalries provided by each of you, both Alex and Matthew listed each other. For Matthew it was that Alex, his own brother-in-law, dared to beat him in his first game in the league. For Alex it was simply “Big bro vs Little bro”.
Fantasy Fairies (2-1) vs ay_Bilat (1-2)
Trey owns Ryan 5-1. Ryan’s first win against Trey came in week 14 last year. Perhaps Ryan can start working towards a win streak of his own? Unfortunately for Ryan, Trey’s scoring is trending up, while his own scoring is heading the opposite direction.
The Empire (2-1) vs Shadow Legion (1-2)
Two meetings between these guys last year and it was two wins for Anthony. Let’s stoke that fire. Both of those wins were complete blowouts. Anthony won by 33 and 47 points. Is your team going to bother showing up this year Bryar?
Kade’s Dawgs (1-2) vs NUKEM (1-2)
Curt has a slight edge in the series 6-5. Curt has won four out of the last five meetings as well. That’s two weeks in a row that recency bias has been working against Rob.
Storm Surge (1-2) vs Ferocious Felines (0-3)
Fred has had Joel’s number, he’s up 3-0. Fred has won every matchup by double-digits, with the closest being a 14-point come from behind (on Monday night) win back in week 12 of 2024. This game will be one to keep an eye on because it will have an early-season impact on the Jeremiah Smith sweepstakes.
