Lance's 2021 Week 18 Predictions

Last Week: 12-4

Overall Record: 154-101-1

Kansas City over Denver

With the way Denver is playing, K.C. should have no problem locking up the #2 seed and giving themselves a chance at the #1.

Philadelphia over Dallas

The news that Micah Parsons was placed on the covid list doesn’t bode well for Dallas. With Dallas’ offense in a weird lull, Philly takes advantage of the Parsons-less defense to get the win.

Green Bay over Detroit

Home field advantage is still on the line, so Green Bay gives Detroit everything they have to, to get the win.

Indianapolis over Jacksonville

Indy’s fighting for a playoff spot, so they won’t be overlooking the Jags, or resting starters.

Washington over NY Giants

I don’t know if there has been a worse team in football in the last three weeks than the Giants? That would be difficult to do since they’ve given up 84 total points and scored just 19. Washington has been far from perfect, but they’re putting up more fight than the Giants have been.

Minnesota over Chicago

With Cousins under Center I expect the Vikings to finish the year on a high note. After the game is when the real show will begin as both of these Head Coaches face the guillotine.

Tennessee over Houston

After an incredibly weird season, which saw Tennessee lose Derrick Henry in the first half of it, the Titans are one win away from securing home field advantage in the AFC. It’s crazy to think about. I think Houston gives them a scare, but in the end the Titans come out on top.

Baltimore over Pittsburgh

Jackson or Huntley, doesn’t matter to me, I’m taking the Ravens to spoil Roethlisberger’s ride into the sunset.

Cincinnati over Cleveland

Cincy is playing like they know exactly how good they are and it’s time for everyone else to realize it too. The Browns are playing like they’re finishing up another two-win season. Cincy blows out their in-state rival.

San Francisco over LA Rams

San Fran is desperate and the Rams aren’t playing their best football right now. I know they can still lose the NFC West to Arizona, so they should be fighting for the win as well, but it’s hard to trust them after seeing them play the last two weeks.

Tampa Bay over Carolina

If Green Bay locks up the 1 seed early on, Tampa will still have the second seed to play for. A win would mean home field advantage in the divisional round as well as the wildcard. And frankly, Carolina’s a mess that won’t be able to hold up against a Bucs team giving full effort.

Arizona over Seattle

This depends on which Cards team we see, but I believe they’ll build off last week's effort and keep themselves in the running for the NFC West.

Miami over New England

The Pats have a recent troubling history playing in Miami/against Miami. They’ve lost 3 out of their last 4 games at Miami, and they haven’t swept them since 2016. Seems like a game that the Pats should win, but I’m gonna go with the recent trend and taking the Dolphins.

Atlanta over New Orleans

The Saints have a chance to make the playoffs still. The last spot in the NFC is a battle between them and San Fran. Atlanta is going to spoil their rival’s fun by knocking them out.

Buffalo over NY Jets

Win and the division is theirs, unless, I think, the Pats lose, in which case the division is also theirs, but the Bills won’t know that before their game kicks off, so all starters should be in and all effort should be given. I like the direction the Jets have been trending, but I don’t think they're good enough to spoil the Bills’ plans in this one.

Las Vegas over LA Chargers

I’ve heard all the nonsense about “if the Colts lose these two could just kneel the ball all game long so they both get in.” First of all, it’s highly unlikely the Colts lose. And second of all, these two teams are full of athletes that want to compete, not lay down, and they don’t like each other. There’s no way they’d willingly let the other team get into the playoffs if they can prevent it. I like the fire Vegas showed last week, so I’m taking them.
