Lance's 2022 Week 10 Predictions
Every week I’ll be putting out my predictions, they will include my winner for each game with a brief explanation, and 1 start and 1 sit for each fantasy football position. As usual, I’ll start with my picks:
Overall Record: 67-52-1
Atlanta over Carolina
As bad as this game sounds on paper, it was arguably the best game I've seen all year when they played just two weeks ago. Of course, Carolina now has a Quarterback controversy and not for good reasons, so I'm taking the Falcons. And if the rest of my picks are right, it will be to regain control of the NFC South.
Seattle over Tampa Bay
Tampa got a win against another struggling team in an awful showing from both sides last week, not something to get excited over. Neither side of the ball is playing well for the Bucs, and Seattle's playing incredible football right now.
Minnesota over Buffalo
My pick for this game depends solely on Allen, if he plays I'm taking the Bills, but right now it's looking like he might not.
Chicago over Detroit
Fields gets the perfect opportunity to continue his hot streak, don't read too far into Detroit's defensive showing against the Packers.
Kansas City over Jacksonville
The Jags defense is actually slightly better than Tennessee's this season, but that's still a level that the Chiefs offense should be able to dominate. I think what happened last week was a one off and we'll see KC take care of Jacksonville.
Miami over Cleveland
Miami's defense can be taken advantage of in just about everyway imaginable, so Cleveland could very well pull off the upset. But with how explosive Miami's offense is, they would have to catch the Dolphins first.
NY Giants over Houston
The Giants are a good team (didn't think I'd write that sentence before the season), and they're playing good tough football on both sides of the ball. Houston is a bad team. 1 + 1 = 2.
New Orleans over Pittsburgh
I'm banking on the Saints defense to take advantage of some untimely turnovers by Pitt's rookie passer.
Tennessee over Denver
Denver's defense does have a weakness and it's the run. They allow 4.9 YPC, and Derrick Henry is hot right now.
Las Vegas over Indianapolis
Indy's moves scream they're tanking for a top pick and a new shiny QB. Seriously, new Head Coach with almost no coaching experience, new OC with no play-calling experience, and sticking with the young QB under Center despite his struggles. I'm picking against the Colts the rest of the way unless we see a serious change in Jonathan Taylor's play.
Dallas over Green Bay
Look, Green Bay is beaten up, they're struggling to get anything going and now they have to face one of the top defenses in the league. It's not going to be pretty for Packers fans.
Arizona over LA Rams
I don't want to pick either team. Both QBs are apparently hurt with Stafford in concussion protocol, and neither one strikes fear into an opponent like they did last season. I'm going with Arizona because they seem less flat. However, if Murray ends up out AND Stafford does play then I'll switch to the Rams.
San Francisco over LA Chargers
San Fran has played a lot better lately and they're getting healthier. And while the Chargers are 5-3, it's kind of been an ugly 5-3.
Philadelphia over Washington
I'm very tempted to pick Washington to win over a hated rival with that rival that's potentially overlooking them. But I think that scare the Eagles had against Houston will keep them focused for this one.
Fantasy Starts and Sits
Record for QBs, TEs, and Ds is based off if they finished top 12 or not
Record for RBs and WRs is based on if they finished top 24 or not.
QB Record: 13-3
QB Start: Jacoby Brissett at Miami
I picked on Miami last week for the same reason, their defense is almost non-existent. Add in the fact that Cleveland could be playing from behind for most of the game and you can see why I snagged Brissett for my dynasty league with Lamar Jackson on bye.
QB Sit: Dak Prescott at Green Bay
Green Bay's not giving up much to QBs in fantasy, which is a pretty good reason to bench Prescott, but it goes beyond that for me. If this game goes how I expect it to, this one should get out of hand early on and not provide a lot of passing opportunities.
RB Record: 9-7
RB Start: A.J. Dillon vs Dallas
Seems a little counter-intuitive given what I wrote above and the fact that Dallas' defense is very good. However, Green Bay is going to need to rely on their run game with the weather expected to be bad, and the way their pass game has been. I'm picking Dillon because of Aaron Jones' injury.
RB Sit: Melvin Gordon at Tennessee
It's not a good matchup, Gordon hasn't done particularly well since Javonte Williams went out, and the addition of Chase Edmonds muddies the waters.
WR Record: 6-10
WR Start: Chase Claypool vs Detroit
He saw 6 targets in a game he was barely supposed to play in. Fields is desperate for weapons and now he has two (three if you include Kmet) solid options at his disposal. Detroit's a defense you want to pick on in fantasy, and I suspect the Bears will want to show off their new weapon even more in front of their fans. Side note, start Mooney as well.
WR Sit: Michael Pittman at Las Vegas
It's not a bad matchup, but you really can't trust Pittman until the current offense either resolves itself or implodes (and if it's the latter than Pittman will be riding your bench the rest of the way).
TE Record: 8-8
TE Start: Greg Dulcich at Tennessee
Dulcich has 17 targets, two 50+ yard outings and 1 score over the last three weeks. Clearly Wilson like's him as a Receiver, and the Titans are a good matchup for Tight Ends.
TE Sit: T.J. Hockenson at Buffalo
He did have a very nice first outing with the Vikings, but you can't trust him against a defense that's allowed only one Tight End (Travis Kelce) to put up over 50 yards on them this season. They've also not allowed a score to the position yet.
Defense Record: 8-8
Defense Start: New Orleans at Pittsburgh
I wrote above that I'm picking the Saints because I believe their defense can cause Pickett to turn the ball over, same reasoning for listing them here. If they're gone in your league, then Tennessee and the Giants are good options this week as well.
Defense Sit: Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Seattle
The Bucs defense has not been the fantasy force they were last season, and Seattle has been playing smart football.
