Lance's 2022 Week 13 Predictions
Every week I’ll be putting out my predictions, they will include my winner for each game with a brief explanation, and 1 start and 1 sit for each fantasy football position. As usual, I’ll start with my picks:
Overall Record: 93-70-1
Buffalo over New England
Since Brady left, the Bills are 3-1 against the Pats with the one loss coming in that game with the snow storm. This game is supposed to have good weather.
Atlanta over Pittsburgh
This game is full of Jekyll and Hyde. Sometimes these two teams can look like playoff bound teams and other times they look like they should be picking top five, so it really depends on which version we see. The Falcons have more to play for though and they're at home.
Baltimore over Denver
Clearly Denver's defense can play as well as they want and the offense will still prevent them from winning because they just can't score...or move the ball. That's not going to cut it against the Ravens.
Chicago over Green Bay
This one depends on Fields, if he doesn't play I'm taking Green Bay. But if he does, he can easily destroy the Packers just like Hurts did.
Detroit over Jacksonville
Detroit has had a nice run over the last five weeks. Yes, they lost two of those games, but those losses were by 4 to Miami, and by 3 to Buffalo. Jacksonville is coming off a big win themselves, but the Lions are a better team than their record shows.
Cleveland over Houston
Some might look at this as a revenge game for the Texans because of how Watson treated them down the stretch. But this is definitely a revenge game for Watson because of how that organization treated him overall (coaching decisions, personnel decisions, it was like they handed him that contract and then focused on making him fail). He's going to struggle as he kicks the rust off, but the Browns will prove to be too talented to fall to the Texans.
NY Jets over Minnesota
The Jets have the defense to limit Minnesota's production through the air, and after that Mike White showing last week, they definitely have the offense to take advantage of the Vikings lax defense.
NY Giants over Washington
Big division rivalry game with potential playoff ruining implications. I think Barkley gets going, and the Giants use the control the clock formula to pull out the win.
Philadelphia over Tennessee
The Titans secondary is about to get lit up by an angry A.J. Brown.
Seattle over LA Rams
Not really a question, definitely not one if Stafford misses another game.
San Francisco over Miami
This is offense versus defense, but not the offense/defense you're thinking. This one will come down to how well the Niners offense can move the ball against Miami's defense, and considering the Dolphins' lack of defensive efficiency, I'm taking San Fran.
Cincinnati over Kansas City
Rematch of the AFC championship, and we should see a ton of excitement once again. Both QBs are playing great football, so expect fireworks. I'm taking Cincy because they have the better weapons, and their defense has shown more life.
Las Vegas over LA Chargers
With the way Jacobs is running right now and how bad the Chargers rush defense is, I'm going LV.
Dallas over Indianapolis
Look at how these two have played this season and you won't need an explanation on why you should be taking Dallas.
New Orleans over Tampa Bay
You probably don't remember, but back before their game at the beginning of the year I commented on how Brady has struggled against the Saints since going to Tampa. And he did struggle in that game right up until he and Mike Evans got Lattimore ejected from the game. Lattimore is hurt and may not play, but the Saints' young Corners are actually ready to go this time. Brady struggles, Saints win.
Fantasy Starts and Sits
Record for QBs, TEs, and Ds is based off if they finished top 12 or not
Record for RBs and WRs is based on if they finished top 24 or not.
QB Record: 15-7
QB Start: Trevor Lawrence at Detroit
Back to back 20+ point games should turn into a three game streak against one of the worst pass defenses in the league.
QB Sit: Kirk Cousins vs NY Jets
We all know who Cousins is by now, so we know that a fantasy day ruining game can happen, especially when taking on one of the best secondary's in the NFL.
RB Record: 11-11
RB Start: Zonovan Knight at Minnesota
If you're looking for a late season addition to help you out in the backfield, Knight may be it. He had a great first game last week, and with Carter being banged up, I would expect to see a good dose of him against the Vikings this week.
RB Sit: Miles Sanders vs Tennessee
Sanders has been all over the board this season. Last week he had a monster outing, but it was against Green Bay, they have a terrible run defense. Tennessee has a solid run defense, but a bad pass defense, so I would expect Philly to keep the ball in the air.
WR Record: 10-12
WR Start: DeVante Parker vs Buffalo
The weather actually looks like it's going to be good for this one, so expect Buffalo to move the ball fine offensively, which would in turn force New England to open it up again. Parker had 4 catches on 4 targets for 80 yards last week, and he looks like he'll head into tomorrow at full strength.
WR Sit: JuJu Smith-Schuster at Cincinnati
Smith-Schuster is a matchup based start, and this is not the matchup to start him in.
TE Record: 9-13
TE Start: Juwan Johnson at Tampa Bay
Last week was a rough outing for those of you that jumped in with both feet, but San Fran is a tough opponent. He did score in each of the three weeks prior to that, and he put up 6 points against Tampa the first time around.
TE Sit: Gerald Everett at Las Vegas
It looks like a great matchup on paper, but Everett had a golden opportunity last week and he finished with 4 catches for less than 20 yards. With Allen back Everett took a back seat. Plus, there's a chance Williams plays too which will only hurt Everett more.
Defense Record: 13-9
Defense Start: Seattle Seahawks at LA Rams
The Rams have been a great team to stream against this season, and they could be without Stafford again. Last week that resulted in 11 fantasy points for the Chiefs defense.
Defense Sit: San Francisco 49ers vs Miami
The Niners defense has been hot, but Miami's offense has been a fantasy defense destroyer for most of the season. It's tough to pick on a team that's averaging 27.7 PPG with Tagovailoa under Center.
