Dynasty League 2026 Week 8: Playoff Portrait
The playoff field is a mess this year! Four current playoff teams are 4-4, five of the non-playoff teams are 3-5 and the worst team in the league is only one game behind them at 2-6. To put it in a brighter light, everyone is still alive and kicking in the playoff race! And fun little, pre-week 10, playoff anecdote, if Nathan wins next week and Rob and Joel lose, then Nathan will officially have his playoff spot locked up, which would be the earliest anyone has locked up a playoff spot in this league. Here are your week 8 results:
Kade’s Dawgs 129.28 over Fantasy Fairies 127.86
Monday night mayhem two days after Halloween. Curt had a 13-point lead going into last night. All he needed was for Chicago to not treat it like it was Christmas night and Swift was Alvin Kamara. They didn’t quite go that far, but they tried. Just 15 more yards and Ryan is walking away with a stunning come from behind win. Great performances on both sides of the field this week. Curt saw Tuten and Pollard combine for 56.1 points out of the backfield, and late week pick-up Kirk Cousins put up 25. Swift was the heavy hitter for Ryan, but Kincaid, Drew Stevens, and the Jags defense definitely helped Ryan reach his highest point total since week 1.
Ferocious Felines 91.18 over The Empire 81.50
Not a pretty game. A few highlights, like Bucky Irving and Josh Jacobs, but for the most part guys fell flat. Metcalf under a point. And on the other side, Lamar Jackson coming back from injury just to get hurt on his first throw and is now expected to miss the rest of the season. I’m sure Fred is happy to have his second win regardless of how it came, especially since he is still in the running for the playoffs. And Bryar can at least suffer a little less knowing that Goff in place of Jackson would not have won him the game.
Michael Style 91.10 over NUKEM 80.40
And now, coming in at 10th on the all-time lowest scoring matchups list……this game! Funnily enough, it would’ve been Fred vs Bryar taking that spot if it wasn’t for these two. Jonathan Taylor ran like a man trying to get traded, and injuries/bye weeks forced Alex to start Roschon Johnson, but thankfully for him he still had JSN. I’m betting Rob has a very similar item at the top of his Christmas list as I do, that we’re both hoping comes to fruition in the next week…for the love of Pete, trade for Justin Herbert Vikings!
Bolt Battalion 137.98 over ay_Bilat 127.16
This one ended up being pretty entertaining, but Matthew’s lead heading into Monday night was just too much for Trey to overcome. Michael Wilson led the Battalion to victory, but it wasn’t without sacrifices, two ribs from what I heard. Trey was hoping his mantra for the week, “no CMC, no problem” would prove to be true, and his team really did give it their all, but a poor decision at QB dashed his hopes.
Fear Itself 132.96 over Storm Surge 95.86
Nathan has now broken the record for longest win streak to open a season. It was the usual suspects getting it done for him (Allen, Gibbs, Warren, Nacua, and Golden, so usual for this season). He could’ve just started those five this week and still won. The loss is of course going to sting, but Joel has got to be excited about Coleman being back at 100% and hitting 18 points.
Space Rangers 152.48 over Shadow Legion 90.40
A little update, Ja’Marr Chase has been found and returned, Garrett Wilson briefly showed back up, made a bunch of noise and then disappeared again, and we got a call that Bijan Robinson was seen soaking wet and looking like he rolled around in a swamp, but he vanished before they could bring him home. Joey B made sure to cover for the latter two this week, his 37.48 points were enough for Player of the Week honors! The loss seemed to spur a fire sale at the Shadow Legion Emporium. Everything must go! Except Braelon Allen, he tried to carry the whole team on his back this week, it was a valiant effort.

Here’s a look ahead at next week:
Fear Itself (8-0) vs Shadow Legion (3-5)
Anthony won their only matchup last year. It was the best game of that week too, with Anthony pulling it out on Sunday night.
Michael Style (7-1) vs Kade’s Dawgs (4-4)
These two are tied at 4-4. If Alex wins he will tie his longest win streak at 6.
The Empire (4-4) vs Space Rangers (3-5)
We are tied at 4-4. So I guess the tiebreaker should go to the one with more age and beauty, and I am happy to accept.
ay_Bilat (4-4) vs Storm Surge (3-5)
They are tied at 1-1, with Joel winning their first matchup in 2024, and Trey coming away with the win last year.
Bolt Battalion (4-4) vs Fantasy Fairies (3-5)
Ryan won their only matchup last year. It was week 13, and it helped lead to Matthew missing the playoffs last year. Time for a little revenge?
NUKEM (3-5) vs Ferocious Felines (2-6)
Rob leads the series 9-7. However, Fred is 4-1 in their last 5.
That’s all for this week, good luck to you all in week 9!
